わたくしタイトは錆びた英語力の若干の錆落としと、「日本語って悪口表現少なくない？」などの会話を楽しみました。←これは今後も探っていきたいテーマ
当初予定のお店が貸切の日というアクシデントで交流する時間が減ってしまったのが残念でしたが、また次回以降、今回の出会いから会話や議論が発展していけば、と思います！

Hi everyone!
More verbs to go
Bear with me please.
を起こします (to cause) works as a transitive verb and that is it.
が/は起きます (to happen) works as an intransitive verb and that is it.
(Verbs such as the above are semantically related but syntactically different.)
As I have been emphasising, in Japanese, the majority of verbs work either transitively or intransitively.
They fall into either type, Transitive or Intransitive.
(Though, the verbs like 起こします and 起きます share the same kanji because of their semantic similarity. ).
However, some verbs such as 話します works as both a transitive and an intransitive verb. (Though, this is a very rare case.)
Intransitive use:
人は/が話します。
犬は/が話しません。
Transitive use:
人は/が言葉を話します。
犬は/が言葉を話しません。
In the 4 sentences above, 話します can be translated as to speak in English, so please be careful :)

Let's have a look at more verbs to concrete the idea
An intransitive verb 走ります to run goes with particles such as Path Marker を, Direction Marker に and Location Marker で, considering the nature of the action.
For example,
私は、公園を走ります。
私は、公園に走ります。
私は、公園で走ります。
You can alternatively say,
私は、家から公園に走ります。
私は、家から公園まで走ります。
から〜に means from 〜 to
から〜まで means from 〜 until
As I said before, English verbs can often be used both transitively and intransitively.
Some of them can even be used across different parts of speech, e.g. to open and to be open.
When it is switched from a transitive use to an intransitive use and vice versa, its meaning sometimes changes completely, e.g. to run.
In Japanese, this does not happen, as every kanji continues to carry the same signification regardless of the way it is used, so, please watch out.
走ります is an intransitive verb and it means to run similar to jog and that is it
