Let's continue on positive and negative verb forms in present tense.
Please note that the register is mainly controlled by conjugating the verb at the end of the sentence. If you go for masu form, the sentence sounds proper so it is always a safe as well as a practical choice
We of course sometimes use the dictionary form at the end of the sentence too. However, when we do, we usually add suffixes such as ね, よ and の to give the final touch in order to avoid sounding too blunt.
Dictionary from is mainly used because of the purpose of noun modification
e.g.
毎日食べる野菜は、ブロッコリーです。
あまり飲まない飲み物は、コーラです。
